Houston Bodyboarding Camps changed my life. I had high expectations after signing up 2 weeks before the camp was to begin and every expectation was met and exceeded.
Jared and his family are some of the kindest people I’ve ever met. Their home and property in Puerto Rico is mystical. The vibe nourishes your body and minds need for nature. I found myself constantly receiving a calming sense of peace. I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. After a long day of surfing, stretching and eating delicious meals, the Airbnb apartment behind their house, El Cucubano, was the perfect place to come home to.
I had several goals during my trip that Jared worked with me on daily, but probably the biggest goal of the trip was to learn more about competing professionally. Not only did I learn just about everything I needed to know, but Jared helped me gain the confidence I needed to commit to taking action towards making some of the biggest decisions of my life. He encouraged me in ways that I truly needed to take the next step mentally. Sure enough, after my time with Jared at Houston Bodyboarding Camps, I went on to compete in the 2019 Mike Stewart Pipeline Invitational Trials event. I ended up making it into the main event by ironically beating some of the guys that I consider to be the best from Puerto Rico. Without Jared’s camp and confidence in me, none of that would have been possible. Now I’m more motivated than ever and only just getting started in the sport that I’ve loved for almost all my life.
I recommend this camp for anyone who is interested in getting excellent advice on how to improve their bodyboarding skills or anyone who is just in love with the sport of bodyboarding.
